Double R Utilities has completed the major construction pieces of this project. We will begin to fill the line for pressure testing and bacteriological sampling this week for the next step of the project per the South Carolina Department of Environmental Services (SCDES). Once these tests have been completed, SCDES will issue a permit to place the line into service. The construction progress map for this project, which is available on the ICWD website, now indicates that all of the pipe installation has been completed. To view this map, click on the “View Map” adjacent to this update.
Double R is also reseeding some of the areas that have little grass growth due to the lack of rain. Driveway repairs from the line installation on this project have begun and will continue over the next few weeks until all are completed.
Double R will continue to use lane closure equipment during the driveway repair portion of this project. Please abide by these devices to keep our contractors and you as safe as possible in these work zones.
If there are any questions or concerns that relate to this project, we ask that you please contact us via email at construction@icwd.org or call our Project Manager, Tommy Staton at (864)809-9110.

Double R Utilities has begun the work to bore under Interstate 26 between mile marker 10 and 11. This bore will allow us to bring our main under Interstate 26 and over to Pen Del Road where pipe was previously installed as a part of this project. This bore is the last major piece of construction related to this project. Once completed, a few connections will be made and the line will be completed. At that point, the line will be filled and pressure tested to assure it is ready for use. A map which indicates the work that has been completed on this project, and what remains, is available on the ICWD website. To view this map, click on the “View Map” adjacent to this update.
Double R will be using a number of traffic control devices throughout the project. We ask that you abide by all traffic control devices used by our contactor when approaching these work areas to keep you and them safe.
Finally, Double R will soon begin to reseed areas that have little grass growth due to the lack of rain. Driveway repairs from the line installation on this project will also begin in the near future.
